The Jaguar Network and the Ministry of Environment of Salta
province signed an agreement to work together for the Jaguar

The Saltas's Environment
Minister, Francisco López Sastre, signed in Buenos
Aires a Memorandum of Agreement with the President
of the Red Yaguareté (Jaguar Network), Nicolás
Lodeiro Ocampo. The document sets out the
institutional cooperation for the conservation of
the Jaguar Natural Monument.
Among the work was attempting to coordinate an
ongoing collaboration between both institutions to
implement solutions to the jaguar-human activities
problems, developing conflict mitigation
activities in the province.
Also technical training in the legal field wil be
organized, and establish partnerships to address
the persecution of illegal activities against the
species, promoting the adoption of standard
protocols and participate in the establishment and
access to databases, recording the species
presence in partnership between the province
Rangers and technicians who are active in the
field, and the Red Yaguareté through its field
researchers.
here also will be exchanges of GIS information to
boost jobs in the region and begin to develop a
map of corridors for the Jaguar in the province
under its current distribution and the law of
Native Forest Land force, among others.
The first fruit of this
agreement will be the 14th of October, when the
two institutions command the 1st Workshop on
Operational and Administrative Manual for
provincial Jaguar Natural Monument.
