The jaguar skin offered for sale and then confiscated. |
After a complaint of the Red Yaguareté (Jaguar
Network) and in a swift and well coordinated
operation, a Jaguar skin that was offered for sale
in a shop was confiscated in the city of Bahía
Blanca, in Buenos Aires province.
On Friday June 4 we received the complaint through
the Jaguar Network, we ask the complainant (whose
identity we always keep in reserve) to take
photographs to document the crime, which they did
quickly and efficiently. On Monday 7,we made the
complaint at the UFIMA and Tuesday 8, this
prosecution in an excellent and unprecedented
coordination with the Environmental Crimes
Division of the Federal Police and the Department
of Fauna and Flora of the Ministry of Land Affairs
of Buenos Aires province, seized the skin.
This represents a breakthrough in the fight to
finish with trade and trafficking of jaguar skins.
This type of operations were unthinkable three
years ago, as well as to bring such cases to
justice and
ensure
good sanctions as we are getting.
estamos consiguiendo.
Now, actiosn will continue in courts for violation
of laws
25.463 (Jaguar National Natural Monument),
22.421 (National Law of Wildlife Conservation) y
22.351 (Argentina National Parks
Administration).
